scott cortez has been recording little ambient instrumental guitar pieces since he was a teenager. this can be heard to full effect on avianium, the bonus disc that came with GIRL ECHO SUNS VEILS in the ltd edition box set. the avianium material is taken from the early instrumental period (1990-1995), recorded on a slew of tapes, and culled to create this disc. sonic portraits, lush textures, simple melodic passages, glinting colors shift, soft passages decay, long drones hover, and echoed fragments create delicate loop environments.
