Thanks everyone for coming out to see us at Pianos! Wednesday, May 5 @ Pianos in NYC
Be among the first fans to hear black tape's new songs performed live!
In preparation for their performance at Convergence 10 (Saturday May 8 in Chicago - website) the band treats their East Coast fans to an exclusive warm-up show May 5 at the lovely Pianos (158 Ludlow St @ Stanton on the Lower East Side - website). This is a 21+ show.
This intimate engagement will sell out fast (the venue only holds 150 people); it's black tape's first New York City concert since opening for The Creatures at Irving Plaza in 1999.
Expect a powerful show! If you heard about black tape's performances at 2002's Projektfest in Philly or 2003's Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, Germany, you know their live sound has evolved with the addition of acoustic guitar and percussion. Some say it's more of an ethereal apocalyptic folk sound these days. Bret's dramatic voice and guitar mixes with Elysabeth's soul-stirring vocals and viola, Michael's guitar & percussion, Lisa's flute and Sam's electronics to create the best incarnation of the band yet.
Black tape for a blue girl will perform a selection of songs from their new album as well as many old favorites.
