| Japanese Import | The story: back some time ago, Scott Cortez (aka Astrobrite) recorded some home-fi shoegaze noisepop brilliant masterpieces for us in his bedroom, which we released on the Clairecords label as "Crush". After that, the Japanese shoegaze scene went nutzo (and rightfully so!) for his brilliant pop melody combined with some of the tastiest sonic noise assaults heard since Psychocandy. As a result, Music Mine Records in Japan flew Scott out to Japan to re-record many of the tracks, in addition to some alternate ones, and hired a Japanese shoegaze supergroup consisting of members of COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS, DIVE, and SLEEPWALK, to be his backing band. Together the four of them recorded a hi-fidelity slice of shoegazing brilliance - Super Crush! Altogether, 6 of the 12 tracks from "Crush" appear here, re-recorded. In addition, 8 more tracks (many from Scott's sublime back catalog of cassette-only releases) were also brought up to sonic power. a 14 track masterstroke that is utterly necessary for any fan of shoegaze genius.
