Home Patterning documents the various performances to have taken place over the first 18 months of Northeast New Jersey's premier home concert series for electronic and experimental music, One Thousand Pulses. In addition to providing a truly resonant experience for performer and audience alike, OTP acts as the central locus for a burgeoning community of venues that wholly embrace attentive listening and direct engagement with the artist, transferring the high-end audio and visual dynamics of the traditional concert hall to the more personalized space of a private residence.

Curated by Darren Bergstein, longtime music journalist, former publisher of genre-defying magazines i/e and e/i, and founder of the Periphery label, OTP's programming follows suit, attracting a wide range of sonic adventurists, a number of whom feature on this compendium. Taken as a whole, Home Patterning makes for a heady brew, discarding pat categorizations as its artists freely did during their OTP tenure.

Included herein are such denizens on the electronic mainframe as Italian experimentalist Eraldo Bernocchi, who has worked with notables Bill Laswell, Mick Harris and Thomas Fehlmann; ambient glurp maven Robert Rich; legendary synth pioneer Malcolm Cecil (of TONTO's Expanding Head Band) collaborating with analog tech fetishists The Electric Golem; thereminist Kevin Kissinger; Moog obsessive & Mimaroglu mailorder kingpin Keith Fullerton Whithman; Philadelphia Buchla bleep duo Color is Luxury; atmospheric guitarist Tim Motzer, who has performed with Ursula Rucker, Markus Reuter, King Britt and Jaki Liebezeit, among others; and Berlin school space explorer & keyboard wiz Chuck van Zyl.

In totem, these expert knob twiddlers manage to generate well in excess of a thousand pulses.

All tracks recorded live in the OTP soundspace in 2010 and 2011 on the dates indicated.
