The roots of Gothic Doom Metal band DYING PASSION lay in the 1995 formation SINNERS, forged by erstwhile RETURN TO INNOCENCE members guitarist Standa Jelinik and Ales and incorporating bassist Pavel Biro and drummer Vjacki. The band took on the new guise of DYING PASSION with the addition of lead vocalist Zuzana Lipova, keyboard player Dmitrij Michajlov and new drummer Zdenek Smesny. Although Michajlov was soon to leave DYING PASSION enrolled second guitarist Jarda Routil and flute player Veronika Skrottova for the 1994 'No Time' demo. A further addition to the ranks, violin player Karel, saw the band take final shape for recording of the debut album 'Secretly' for Metal Breath Productions. 2000 would see a marked increase in live activity in order to promote the album, including numerous festival appearances, a support to THE GATHERING in Prague and inaugural gigs outside their Czech homeland in Bratislava, but before the close of the year Pavel Biro opted out. DYING PASSION brought in Standa Pavlik of MORTIFY as replacement.
The band worked in tandem with famed Czech Rock personality Milos Dodo Dolezal for the second album 'Voyage'. DYING PASSION conducted a Czech tour in 2002 allied with label mates SAD HARMONY and SORATH.
Zuzana Lipova would contribute guest session vocals to an album by ROOT in 2003.
