Android Lust
Devour, Rise, and Take Flight

Android Lust
Resolution (in jewelcase) OUT OF PRINT - LAST COPIES!

Bangladeshi-born powerhouse Shikhee returns from an intense year and an half in the studio with this first taste of February 2006’s Devour, Rise, and Take Flight, an aggressive counterpoint to 2003’s The Dividing. Shaking loose the confines of the industrial genre, Shikhee has created an harsh and unforgiving electronic assault led by her commanding voice. The four tracks on the Dragonfly single include exclusive remixes and an all new non-album track displaying Android Lust’s most challenging yet accessible songwriting to date.

A review from Fishcom Collective:
Android Lust's distinctive, infectious, quirky electronic music brings to bear semi-glitchiness (referenced obliquely), industrialized electronica, unique vocalizations and a certain new wave-ishness to create audio stylings that are engaging and a bit provacative. Ranging from textural, very 'industrial' sounding electronica to minimalist, mid-tempo psytrance, the music somehow conjures from that aforementioned minimalist a surprisingly layered and lush sound that is spartan but anything but empty. A glutted genre receives much deserved nobility. -Upchuck Undergrind

A review from regenmag.com:
It would be easy to dismiss Android Lust as another solo industrial project, not unlike Klayton Scott’s Celldweller or Trent Reznor’s Nine Inch Nails, but Shikhee’s mixture of tortured lyricism and stark atmosphere makes for an enticing combination that is not easily imitated. After the success of her previous album The Dividing, the Dragonfly single offers just a glimpse into what new surprises Shikhee has in store for her impending new album Devour, Rise, and Take Flight, to be released in January of 2006. “Dragonfly” gives listeners a taste of the new sound of Android Lust; while not a dramatic departure from the past, these two mixes of “Dragonfly” show a greater sense of melody and electronic experimentation, making the song as catchy as it is sonically challenging. With percolating synths, noisy overdriven guitars, and Shikhee’s distinctive vocals seemingly taking flight to unseen heights, “Dragonfly” alone promises finer things to come. “Hole Solution (Alternate)” is a bouncy techno funk song with subdued glitches and some interesting vocal ambiences, while “Mother” is reminiscent of post-Skinny Puppy Download with its cold pads, pumping bass loop, and some sparse percussion effects echoing in and out of the mix, with Shikhee’s nightmarish whisper bringing the single to a haunting close. Alas, as it is only a single, these four tracks simply aren’t enough to quench the need for a plethora of new Android Lust material, but it is more than satisfying as a teaser for what the New Year will bring us. If Devour, Rise, and Take Flight is as excellent as Dragonfly makes it out to be, 2006 is sure to be a great year for Android Lust.

A review from Virus Magazine:
Android Lust’s Shikhee is back again after 2003’s album The Dividing and 2004’s remix MCD Stripped and Stitched. Dragonfly is meant to be an appetizer for the upcoming album, Devour, Rise, and Take Flight. Admittedly, a more than tasty one.

The single includes exclusive remixes of songs from the upcoming album, plus the new non-album piece “Mother." The disc starts off with the 'edit' version of the title track, which is a quite exciting interaction between sweet’n’trippy darkness and noisy’n’crashy sounds, kinda industrial meets electronica, or beauty meets aggressiveness. Imagine a mix of NIN, Björk, Massive Attack, and I, Parasite and you'll get at least a bit closer to what's coming through the speakers. Shikhee's expressive vox accompany the music really impressively, being emotional, but also demanding. Speaking of I, Parasite aka NY based musician Christopher Jon - his crunchy 'low' version of the track follows before “Hole Solution” (alternate) comes along with a very smooth attitude, including elegantly throbbing rhythms, spacy and trancy effecting sound splinters, sexy vocals and with a bit of a Underworld fragrance. “Mother” concludes this trip and offers a quite atmospheric, cinematic landscape, with Shikhees vocals floating in a whispered, mysterious way. This single really arouses curiosity with regard to the full-length adventure! -Breda
