Shinjuku Thief's Darrin Verhagen under the "Professor Richmond" alias.

Australian Import. Shinjuku Thief's Darrin Verhagen released this under the "Professor Richmond" name, but it's basically a Shinjuku Thief album! Shinjuku Thief's soundtrack for the Vis a Vis dance company's 1994 season sees the bandits in a playful mood. The gothic doom and existential nihilism of their last two CD's has been discarded here, in favour of groove, seduction and just a touch of good-natured violence. Whilst ambient techno and industrial dance form the backbone to the performance, there are moments of funk, rock and distant voice which spike through the formula throughout. Mark Stafford, the electric guitarist from Bloody Tourist makes a welcome reappearance. Spoken text and distracted vocals are by experimental singer, M'chele Morgan, with washing machines and faulty erase heads by Tony Suppa and Darrel Merritt respectively. Darrin Verhagen plays the fax machine and causes the four car pile-up at the end.
