Projekt newest signing: Tearwave
November 28, 2006
Shoegaze is alive and well in Tearwave. A decade after bands like Lush and Ride rose and fell into obscurity, Tearwave comes to fill the void. Not just a recreation of things tried and done, but a decade wiser and more mature. Drawing on the past but moving forward to the future. - Shawn, Tearwave fan.
Projekt is proud to announce the signing of Tearwave, a gorgeous Shoegazer / Dream-Pop quartet from Buffalo, NY. Look forward to their debut CD in the late winter.

Here's what Tearwave's fans have been saying about the music:
Swirling walls of intricately layered sounds; an echo chamber for the heart; dense soundscapes bearing the full range of the emotional world, and simply dark and lush like a Victorian opium den. Music that really touches the soul, your voice is like an angel. For people who love shoegaze, we've been waiting for this ever since Lush broke up. - leftist librarian
Tearwave is a slow drift into a lazy hinterland populated with broken statues, desolate forests and shimmering spirits. A luminous dreamscape brilliantly outlined with mourning guitars and reverberation. Crystalline voices filter through the miasma and resonate the soul. Each song a guided journey of human emotion and raw power.- Somnium7
The sounds of Tearwave combines beauty and feeling with excellent structure and melodies that only leaves you yearning for more. Tearwave's music evokes a sad, cold dream-like vibe. The guitar is a highlight giving off a very surreal ambience teamed up with simple yet fitting drum and bass work along with Jenn's hauntingly beautiful singing. This is the music of my dreams... - NOSTALGIA
One thing about your tunes... haunting. Great vocals, strong musicianship, but its not depressing to listen to, which is why it rocks. Voice is just beautiful, seriously. A sound for the next wave... don't miss it. - eddie
The expansive, wall of sound thing has been done to death recently, but... it really does take more than a few fancy effects and ethereal vocals to do it justice. Tearwave understand this. The intimacy of the vocals is counter-pointed with the icy solemnity of the music. Melodies shift, disappear, and then re-assert themselves. Drums pounds, emotional crescendos are reached, but it is always anchored to the beguiling warmth of the vocals. Sadness never sounded so desirable. - Steven Dedalus
Your music is spinechilling. It touches a few nerves indeed. That voice could cut through anything and the instrumentation is very fitting. - gaara
I'm already loving your sound immensely... beautiful, dark and hypnotic with feeling. Everything I look for in music. - Mike
